Rotary Way as it was officially named at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Oct 10, 2007 once referred to as Route 54B by a local Bath businessman was a project of the Bath Rotary Club to give residents of Clyde E. Simmons Lakeview Apartments on Geneva Street an easier and much safer route to the shopping plaza in the background. The walkway around the gazebo was named Woody's Way in honor of Woody Shirley. Don Snyder, a Rotary Club member and a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church thought that this would be a good chance for the men of Centenary to do some volunteer work. Don presented the idea at a Methodist Men's breakfast earlier this year. The Methodist Men responded not only with volunteers, but also with a $500 donation. Volunteers working on the bench project were David Billings, John Coumbe, Bob Kenville, Wayne Ketch and Dan Reppert.
