Christian Year:  3rd of Easter, C  Calendar Year:   Native Amer. Sunday

 Main Text:                    Rev. 5:11-14

I looked again. I heard a company of Angels around the Throne, the Animals, and the Elders—ten thousand times ten thousand their number, thousand after thousand after thousand in full song: “The slain Lamb is worthy! Take the power, the wealth, the wisdom, the strength! Take the honor, the glory, the blessing!”

Then I heard every creature in Heaven and earth, in underworld and sea, join in, all voices in all places, singing: “To the One on the Throne! To the Lamb! The blessing, the honor, the glory, the strength, For age after age after age.”

The Four Animals called out, “Oh, Yes!” The Elders fell to their knees and worshiped.

Secondary Text:           Psalm 30

A Psalm. A Song at the dedication of the temple. Of David.

1    I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up, and did not let my foes rejoice over me. 2O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.

6    As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.” 11  You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 so that my soul may praise you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

Summary of Message:  Angels as created beings, are real according to the Bible.  Angels dwell in heaven, but some frequent earth to assist humans.  Their primary purpose is to worship and exalt God.  Their response to the presence of Jesus Christ in heaven after his resurrection is to sing of his worthiness to receive all of God’s honor, since he was “with the father” before time began.  (John 1)
